  • PAID SICK TIME (PST) REQUEST FOR ILLINOIS PAYROLL ASSOCIATES:

    Effective January 2024, Atrium Associates who work in Illinois are eligible to accrue sick time on all hours worked at a rate of one (1) hour of earned sick time for every 40 hours worked and can use up to a maximum of 40 Sick Leave Hours. Atrium’s calendar year is defined as January 1 to December 31.

    Earned sick time may be taken on the 91st day of employment, whichever is later. Up to 40 hours of earned but unused PST may be carried forward into a new calendar year.

    If your assignment ends at any point, earned but unused PST is not paid out. If you go back to work within one (1) year, and have met the eligibility requirements, earned unused sick time accrued before the break in service will be reinstated.

    Cook County & Northbrook Paid Sick Time

    Effective July 2017, Atrium Associates who work in the boundaries of Cook County or the city of Northbrook are eligible to accrue sick time on all hours worked at a rate of one (1) hour of earned sick time for every 40 hours worked and can use up to a maximum of 48 Sick Leave Hours. Atrium’s calendar year is defined as January 1 to December 31.

    Earned sick time may be taken on the 181st calendar day of the effective date of the sick pay mandate or on the 181st calendar day of employment, whichever is later. Up to 48 hours of earned but unused PST may be carried forward into a new calendar year.

    If your assignment ends at any point, earned but unused PST is not paid out. If you go back to work within one (1) year, and have met the eligibility requirements, earned unused sick time accrued before the break in service will be reinstated.

    Chicago Paid Sick Time

    Effective July 2024, Atrium Associates who work at least 80 hours within a 120-day period within the geographical boundaries of Chicago are eligible to accrue sick and paid leave time.

    Sick time (PST) is accrued on all hours worked at a rate of 1 hours of earned sick time for every 35 hours worked and can use up to a maximum of 40 Sick Leave Hours. PST may be taken on the 31st day of employment. Minimum usage increment not to exceed 2 hours. Up to 80 hours of earned but unused PST may be carried forward into a new calendar year. If your assignment ends at any point, earned but unused PST is not paid out. If you go back to work within one (1) year, and have met the eligibility requirements, earned unused sick time accrued before the break in service will be reinstated.

    Paid leave is accrued on all hours worked at a rate of 1 hours of earned sick time for every 35 hours worked and can use up to a maximum of 40 Paid Leave Hours. Paid Leave may be taken on the 91st day of employment. Minimum usage increment not to exceed 4 hours. Up to 16 hours of earned but unused paid leave may be carried forward into a new calendar year.

    Atrium’s calendar year is defined as January 1 to December 31.

    Your PST request will be reviewed by Payroll to ensure eligibility requirements have been met. Please allow 7-14 business days for approval and processing of payment. If eligibility requirements are not met, Payroll will contact you.
